We all recognize the importance of information. In an increasingly fast pace world with countless datapoint at our finger tips, it becomes difficult to discern what data is relevant and what the trend is longterm. Whether it be data overload, difficultly identifying trends, or the struggle of remembering specific numbers for long periods of time, it is hard to make informed decisions without the assistance of data visualization tools and centralized databases. Numbers, data, and values are all trying to find a why to speak. To share their information with us and to make sure that we know as much as possible before making an important decision. I want to give a voice to this information.
My intention by taking this journey is to better inform myself and others using the data available. I am a Business Intelligence Master’s program candidate at Full Sail University who believes in making informed decisions, tracking results, and producing positive change. Over the next 12 months, I hope to learn how to better prepare the data I use regularly for ease of consumption and to quickly identify trends. I hope to use these new skills to further expand my career by using metrics to drive my priorities and improve my organization. Data gives us the vital signs for our business and being able to use this to find the next area of opportunity or to grow and existing strength is necessary to maintaining a healthy operation. I will continue to use the knowledge, skills, and abilities I learn throughout this program to identify these in my current and future organizations in order to make our operation safer, more efficient, and better for my teams.
I’m excited to share my experiences and results over the next 12 months as I learn more on this journey and am able to apply those skills in real time.
