Reflection: Process Modeling & Analysis

This course was difficult to get a full grasp on during the entire process.

While I feel the course offered a lot of practice in areas, it is difficult to pinpoint material that was brand-new and was not covered in other areas of the course. There were also points where I felt the weekly assignment did not match the content of the week’s reading and it was necessary to learn entirely separate and new material in order to complete each weekly website update assignment.

Overall, even though the course proved difficult – it was valuable due to the practice of key skills, including process mapping. While it may not have been exactly what I expected, the course did end up being worthwhile.

I’ll definitely use the skills practiced in this course, particularly creating and mapping processes and searching for areas of improvement in my career. While this is a skill I’ve used in the past, it was very enlightening to see the depth of the field of process mapping and to see the different types of visualizations that could be used to effectively map a process and identify efficiencies.

On a personal note for this course, I could not be more appreciative of Full Sail University and of Dr. Roshdy for their flexibility, understanding, and patience. The students of this course began this class in a seemingly normal world with very little out of the ordinary except chatter about a virus spreading. Those students and faculty members would end this course with world-wide lock-downs in place to stop the spread, learning to work from home, some even maybe losing their jobs.

This was a strange time and it was amazing for Full Sail and especially for Dr. Roshdy to be so completely understanding.

Thank you!
