A Personal Learning Network is the combination of resource that someone uses in order to learn new content, gain new skills, or expand their knowledge (Gutierrez, 2016). This concept has grown in importance over the last two decades as access to the internet and reliable information sources increases (Gutierrez, 2016). My PLN is centered around enhancing skills in my existing role as a leader and growing skills in my future skills as a business intelligence practitioner. While I’m continuing my journey, I must also grow my professional network. Growing my professional network will keep me informed of new opportunities, allow me to build relationships with industry peers, and open future doors that allow me to explore my passions. The first steps on utilizing both of these concepts to strengthen my future is creating a Feedly site to stay informed of industry topics and to maintain an updated LinkedIn profile.
This week, I tackled both of these tasks.
